Welcome to the new look Movie Music UK
After many years of a rather stagnant and out of date site design, plus various technological and security-related issues over the past six months, I have decided to bite the bullet and launch a site upgrade, with a new look, and new features intended to make the site more interactive and modern.
The review content and composer biography archive will remain the same (as, hopefully, will the quality of writing!), but in addition to these classic elements the site now has an RSS feed, is set up to allow instant feedback from readers through direct comment areas on each review, and is plugged in to Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Digg, and various other social media outlets to allow easy link sharing.
Over the coming months I will be working on new reviews and content while moving over and converting all the existing reviews and composer biographies to the new style. Currently the majority of the historical reviews and composer bios are unavailable, but this will gradually change over time. I expect all the content to be back live within 10-12 weeks.
I hope you like the all-new MMUK. Comments and questions are always welcome, of course!

Looking good! As always, looking forward to new reviews.
Well I can’t say I don’t like the new Blog approach, although it will take some getting used to. I like how you are using bigger cover art, and the easy navigation of the page.
However there is one thing that I can see bothering me, that is the almost gray colored font that the reviews are written in. It maybe just my tired eyes, but while reading the Dragonslayer review I felt like the gray font put a little extra strain on my eyes agianst the white background.
Of coarse it was an artistic choice on your part, I do recommend howver using a darker font in order to prevent readers from going blind reading your excellent review :-).
Thank you for the nice comments! Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction for the site. Unfortunately I can’t do anything about the font color – it’s part of the theme setup I’m using for the entire site design and it’s not something I can change. Sorry!
I like the new look. It’s much clearer than the older one. Maybe it would look pretty good if you put another UK flag left to the MMUK lettering. Perhaps a background image would be nice. I’m looking forward to your upcoming reviews.
WordPress is probably a good idea. The automatically generated (I assume) mobile version is a big help since I’m often looking up things I find in used book (and CD) stores. Of course, it’s no use now since the old material isn’t available. I think this could perhaps be made a little clearer. I spent a little time trying to find reviews, getting nothing but “no matches” from what appeared to be live links, and came to the initial conclusion that the site was simply broken.
Well, as I said in the last paragraph of the message above, “Over the coming months I will be working on new reviews and content while moving over and converting all the existing reviews and composer biographies to the new style. Currently the majority of the historical reviews and composer bios are unavailable, but this will gradually change over time. I expect all the content to be back live within 10-12 weeks.”
Where are the composer interviews?
On my hard drive, waiting to be uploaded.
When do you plan to have the entire site converted?
